Challenges & Goals

Perfect World Games enlisted UberStrategist to support the closed beta launch of NTE, a new open-world RPG. With only one month to execute, the challenge was to break through a crowded market and introduce NTE as a bold new contender in the online gacha RPG space.

Our goals were to generate strong preview coverage from top-tier media, secure organic influencer engagement, and build early credibility and buzz to carry momentum into future phases of the game’s release.

Strategic Approach

The first step was to drive coverage around the publisher’s livestream event, which highlighted new gameplay features. NDA restrictions prevented us from coordinating early access opportunities, so we focused on targeted 1:1 pitching to journalists and influencers covering similar titles.

For the official closed beta announcement, we distributed a press release and amplified it with a global AP wire. Throughout the beta period, we stayed in close contact with press and influencers to gather feedback, secure impressions, and follow up with interview opportunities.

Results

We secured around 30 editors for hands-on previews of the beta, resulting in 21 pieces of Tier 1 coverage from outlets such as Gaming Bible, PCGamesN, Everyeye, Dexerto, Pocket Gamer, and WCCFTech.

Influencer engagement far exceeded expectations, generating over seven million combined impressions. Top creators included Enfant Terrible, Z1 Gaming, Down to Top, DPJ, MarcoMeatball, GameCross, and Android Tools.

By uniting press coverage with widespread influencer activity, the campaign helped NTE's closed beta reach wide audiences and gain early recognition as a noteworthy new RPG.
