Challenges & Goals

Heart Core partnered with UberStrategist to support the launch of Gripper, the studio's debut title for Nintendo Switch and PC. Inspired by games such as Akira and Furi, Gripper combined fast-paced motorcycle combat with boss-rush gameplay and a distinctive cyberpunk aesthetic.

The goals were to introduce an unknown indie title to gaming media, establish credibility with players ahead of release, and generate strong launch coverage. With a short campaign timeline, the team needed to generate awareness quickly and create momentum before launch.

Strategic Approach

We built the campaign around Gripper's unique gameplay, visual style, and recognizable inspirations. Our team developed targeted messaging and pursued a mix of news coverage, previews, interviews, feature stories, trailer placements, and reviews to introduce the game to media around the world.

We maintained close communication with the press throughout the campaign and timed outreach around key launch milestones. This approach kept Gripper visible throughout the pre-launch period and positioned the game for a strong review cycle on release.

Results

The campaign secured extensive global coverage across gaming media, including Nintendo Life, PC Gamer, IGN Japan, Kotaku, Nintendo Everything, The Escapist, ComingSoon, Nintenderos, Multiplayer.it, Cubiq, and Steam Deck HQ. We also secured reviews, feature stories, interviews, and trailer placements across several Tier 1 publications.

The campaign successfully introduced Gripper to players around the world and established Heart Core as a promising new indie studio. By combining targeted positioning with sustained media outreach, we helped the studio launch its first title with strong visibility and critical attention.
