Bungie partnered with UberStrategist to support North American PR for Destiny 2, beginning with the lead-up to the Lightfall expansion. As a long-running live service title with an established global audience, the campaign required consistent communication with media and clear coordination across ongoing announcements and content updates.
The client’s goal was to maintain strong media relationships, support major beats such as the annual Destiny 2 Showcase, and ensure consistent coverage across top-tier outlets. This required a reliable PR partner to manage press engagement, handle inbound inquiries, and support visibility across a high volume of updates.
Strategic Approach
We established ourselves as Bungie’s North American PR lead by introducing the team to media and coordinating communications around the Destiny 2 Showcase. We focused on building strong relationships with key Destiny outlets and maintaining regular contact with the press to support ongoing coverage.
Our team supported announcements, managed press inquiries, and developed opportunities to engage media across upcoming releases. We maintained consistent outreach and communication to ensure Destiny 2 remained visible across major beats and ongoing updates.
Results
The campaign secured over 4,400 pieces of coverage, including regular placements in outlets such as Wired, Forbes, GameSpot, GamesRadar+, Polygon, PC Gamer, IGN, and TheGamer. This coverage maintained strong visibility for Destiny 2 across major gaming and mainstream publications.
We supported consistent media engagement throughout the campaign and strengthened relationships with key outlets to ensure continued coverage across major announcements and updates. The campaign reinforced Destiny 2’s presence in the media during a critical phase leading into the Lightfall expansion.
