Challenges & Goals

Schell Games returned to UberStrategist for a seasonal campaign supporting Among Us VR, developed with Innersloth and Robot Teddy. To celebrate the limited-time “Bone Bash” Halloween event, the team aimed to surprise select content creators with a custom unboxing experience that captured the game’s spirit.

Our task was to concept, design, and deliver bespoke kits to handpicked creators across the U.S. and Europe—each timed for a synchronized unboxing livestream. With a tight turnaround, every item had to reflect the game’s playful tone, spooky-season feel, and iconic branding.

Strategic Approach

We worked with our trusted creative partner to explore bold, themed concepts for the kit contents and packaging. The planning deck included a mix of custom 3D-printed items, Halloween-themed off-the-shelf goods, and official client merchandise—each chosen to feel fun, surprising, and unmistakably Among Us VR.

The backpack-style container was designed to be on-theme and practical, but shipping delays threatened European delivery. We quickly sourced an alternate that preserved the kit’s look and feel, meeting the deadline without compromise.

Results

We produced 13 Halloween-themed unboxing kits for ten hand-selected content creators. Each kit included 13 unique items such as a 3D-printed character figure, a tic-tac-toe game, a themed backpack, a candy-filled pumpkin, plush, slime pots, and other curated surprises. The kits were shipped on time across two continents and received by all creators ahead of the designated unboxing day.

Content creators praised the creativity and quality of the kits and shared their unboxings in live streams and social posts, generating excitement and visibility for Among Us VR’s Bone Bash event. The client was thrilled with both the process and final product, especially our ability to adapt quickly to production delays without missing a beat.
