Challenges & Goals
Midwest Games partnered with UberStrategist for an ongoing, long-term campaign to support its growing slate of indie titles and raise awareness for its brand. As a new publisher still building its foundation, Midwest Games needed a partner who could generate visibility for individual titles, the overall brand, and its leadership.
In addition, our focus included helping launch the Midwest Games Shadow Publishing initiative and positioning founder Ben Kvalo as a respected voice in the industry.
Strategic Approach
We craft tailored, targeted PR campaigns for each title in Midwest Games’ portfolio, aligning our outreach with each game’s unique genre, audience, and market positioning. Our approach focuses on elevating their releases through smart, efficient pitching that resonates with editors who regularly cover indie games and comparable titles.
In parallel, we support the publisher by amplifying its mission and leadership. That includes promoting the launch of the Shadow Publishing initiative and securing media and podcast opportunities for founder Ben Kvalo to speak on industry trends, regional growth, and developer support.
Results
So far, we’ve supported six initiatives across Midwest Games’ portfolio, including Hive Jump 2: Survivors, Duck Paradox, Dark Sky, The Legend of Baboo, Tombwater, and the launch of Shadow Publishing. Tombwater gained extra momentum through acceptance into the DreadXP Showcase and strong early interest from editors.
We’ve also helped build the publisher’s brand and position founder Ben Kvalo as a respected voice in the industry. Wins include a full SpawnOnMe podcast episode and an upcoming spot on The Game Business with Chris Dring. As our work continues, we’re committed to supporting Midwest Games as it champions underrepresented talent and launches bold, creative indie titles.
