Challenges & Goals

PQube partnered with UberStrategist to support the Nintendo Switch launch of Gal*Gun: Double Peace, a beloved anime-themed rail shooter that had already gained cult-classic status on PC and console.

Our goal was to generate strong review coverage and secure a Nintendo Switch Metacritic score, while building meaningful launch-day buzz across top gaming and anime-centric media outlets in North and Latin America through carefully targeted outreach and press engagement.

Strategic Approach

We kicked off the campaign by announcing the Nintendo Switch launch date and securing embargoed review placements to maximize launch day visibility. Our focus was to generate a strong wave of scored reviews to drive buzz and establish credibility.

Outreach targeted a mix of top-tier gaming outlets, anime-focused media, and Nintendo-centric sites across North and Latin America. Early access was prioritized for outlets most likely to champion the game’s unique appeal and reach core audiences.

Results

Our campaign generated two dozen scored reviews, securing a Nintendo Switch Metacritic score for Gal*Gun: Double Peace and creating strong launch-day momentum.

The game was featured across a wide range of top-tier and niche outlets, ensuring broad coverage that spoke directly to its core audiences. Coverage highlights included Nintendo Life, App Trigger, Honey’s Anime, TouchArcade, Digitally Downloaded, and Nintendo Everything, among others.

Our efforts helped reintroduce the cult classic to a new platform, reinforce its popularity with anime fans, and position the game for long-term success on the Nintendo Switch.
