Challenges & Goals

IMGN.Pro enlisted UberStrategist to promote The Tale of Bistun, a narrative action-adventure inspired by the Persian poem Khosrow and Shirin. The game combined literary heritage with modern gameplay and featured Iranian developers, actors, and creative leads.

We set out to draw international attention by emphasizing its cultural foundation, narrative richness, and notable voice cast, including Emmy Award-winning actor Shohreh Aghdashloo.

Strategic Approach

Our approach was to position The Tale of Bistun as a rare fusion of cultural storytelling and action-adventure gameplay. We highlighted its origins in Persian literature, the creative team’s background, and its distinctive role within the genre.

From announcement to launch, we ran a continuous campaign designed to keep the game in the media spotlight. This included press releases, targeted media alerts, and interview opportunities to drive steady coverage, along with pitching select exclusives to create a bigger impact at key moments.

Results

The campaign delivered over 230 pieces of coverage worldwide. A major highlight was securing multiple exclusives with GameSpot, ensuring prominent exposure to a large and engaged audience. Many Tier 1 publications also covered the game, including IGN, PlayGround, Rock Paper Shotgun, and 4Gamer.

This sustained media attention brought The Tale of Bistun to new audiences around the world, with coverage often highlighting its cultural inspiration and narrative ambition. The launch became a strong example of how a heritage-driven story can stand out in the modern gaming market.
