Challenges & Goals

Hungry Studio is the mobile game developer behind Block Blast!, a casual puzzle title with 40 million daily active users across Android and iOS. Despite the game’s scale, the studio itself had little visibility and limited recognition within the wider games industry.

Hungry Studio partnered with UberStrategist to establish thought leadership, build industry credibility, and raise awareness for both the studio and Block Blast!. To achieve this, we collaborated on a one-year combined PR and content marketing program designed to position Hungry Studio as an expert in mobile game development.

Strategic Approach

Content marketing formed the foundation of the campaign. We worked closely with Hungry Studio to develop blog topics and build a content calendar that reflected their expertise in mobile games, A/B testing, and game development. 

To ensure authenticity, we created Q&As for leadership and developers and used their responses to shape each article in their own voice. Blogs were published through the studio’s LinkedIn channel. 

Alongside regular blog content, we created select social media posts around company culture and the Block Blast! IP, delivered ongoing PR support (including feature pitching, interviews, and press releases), and assisted with award research and submissions.

Results

Over the course of the engagement, UberStrategist supported the creation and publication of 12 thought leadership blog posts. This consistent content output, combined with broader visibility from PR and social activity, helped grow Hungry Studio’s LinkedIn following from 281 to 2,069 followers by the end of the campaign.

Alongside content marketing, UberStrategist delivered sustained PR support that resulted in 395 pieces of media coverage across global outlets. Interviews were secured with publications including Pocket Gamer, MobileGamer.biz, and Terra, and one of Hungry Studio’s thought leadership articles was published directly by Pocket Gamer.

The campaign also contributed to industry recognition, with Hungry Studio earning two wins at the Global Tech Awards and an Asia-Pacific Stevie Award. Together, these results elevated Hungry Studio’s profile, strengthened its credibility, and significantly expanded visibility for both the studio and Block Blast! within the global games industry.
