Challenges & Goals

Cat City Games and its founder, Chris W. Hill, a Hollywood entertainment veteran, partnered with UberStrategist to launch Balls to the Wall, a mixed reality puzzle game and Chris’s debut gaming project. With no established gaming presence, Chris faced the challenge of breaking into a new industry and capturing media attention.

During the 3-month campaign, we aimed to build awareness for Balls to the Wall, raise the profile of Cat City Games, and position Chris as a fresh creative voice in VR.

Strategic Approach

We moved fast to get Balls to the Wall in front of the right audience. Our campaign kicked off with a press release announcing the game and Chris’s move into VR. We focused on VR-specific outlets and positioned Chris as an entertainment veteran exploring new ground.

To maximize exposure, we connected Chris with podcasts that aligned with his story, provided key support for influencers, and recommended participation in UberStrategist’s Indie Media Connect showcase at GDC 2025 to drive additional press interest.

Results

Our campaign helped Balls to the Wall gain traction in the competitive VR space. We secured coverage with UploadVR and arranged podcast features on The Spawn on Me Podcast and Tech Talk with Marc Saltzman to boost Chris’s visibility within gaming and broader entertainment audiences.

The campaign drove traffic to the MetaQuest Store and increased wishlists. The client expressed strong satisfaction with our work, noting that UberStrategist helped Balls to the Wall earn visibility alongside titles from more established studios — an important achievement for a debut game from a new indie developer.
