Challenges & Goals

4Divinity, a Chinese publisher known for blending Eastern and Western storytelling influences, partnered with UberStrategist to support gamescom press appointment booking for two titles: Sword Sage: Awakening and Realm of Ink. 

The goal of our one-month campaign was to secure as many high-quality meetings with press and influencers as possible to drive previews and post-show coverage. With Realm of Ink already available in Early Access, the campaign faced the added challenge of standing out among newer announcements and highly competitive showcase titles.

Strategic Approach

UberStrategist reached out to gamescom-attending press and creators through several rounds of pitching to help fill 4Divinity’s meeting schedule. We continually worked from updated attendee lists, managed appointment requests through PressEngine, and held regular check-ins with the client to track progress and prioritize our pitching.

On-site at gamescom, we supported each appointment with attendee briefings and organized press materials, including both physical and digital press packs. After the show, we followed up with outlets to encourage coverage and help extend visibility for both titles beyond the event window.

Results

We booked 30 media and influencer appointments during gamescom, including meetings with seven Tier 1 outlets. These sessions gave 4Divinity valuable hands-on exposure for both Sword Sage: Awakening and Realm of Ink across a wide range of attending press.

The outreach resulted in 16 pieces of coverage, with just over half of the appointments converting into published coverage. Placements included a mix of formats, such as the media outlet Sector, the YouTube channel Enfant Terrible, and the podcast Rocquimendaciones de juegos. 4Divinity was also satisfied with the strength of the on-site support UberStrategist provided throughout the event.
