Challenges & Goals

Scrapper, a comic series by Cliff Bleszinski and Alex de Campi about a superhero dog, aimed to generate buzz with a long-term PR campaign targeting comic, gaming, and mainstream press for the announcement, monthly issues, and hardback graphic novel release.

We launched a one-year campaign to leverage Cliff’s name and the comic’s unique aspects for significant coverage in top outlets, aiming to lay a foundation for expanding Scrapper into a video game or animated series.

Strategic Approach

We knew the initial announcement for Scrapper would be a major PR moment, marking Cliff’s return to creative work after leaving the game industry in 2018. As expected, the announcement generated early support, with fans eager for more.

We capitalized on this momentum to engage gaming and comic press, and throughout the campaign, we worked to establish Scrapper’s presence in the comic space with issue previews, creator interviews, and review coverage.

Results

We secured exclusive previews of issues #1 through #6 with top comic outlets, earned many interviews with major gaming and comic press, and confirmed review coverage of the individual comic issues and hardcover graphic novel. We garnered coverage from Tier 1 outlets like ComicBook.com, Game Rant, GamesRadar+, Screen Rant, and more.

UberStrategist’s work helped Scrapper gain a notable presence throughout the comic's announcement and launch, setting the groundwork for Cliff Bleszinski to work on future issues or transform the franchise into an animated TV series.
