Challenges & Goals

Pahdo Labs, a rising indie studio, approached UberStrategist for support on Starlight Re:Volver, a co-op action roguelite set in a nostalgic, anime-inspired MMO universe. Ahead of the game's demo launch during Steam Next Fest, the team aimed to secure press coverage and attract participants to a curated Discord preview event.

With only six weeks to execute and ambitious expectations for the preview event, the campaign required a focused, fast-moving approach to deliver meaningful results in a competitive window.

Strategic Approach

To build momentum quickly, we launched a focused PR campaign targeting media that cover anime-inspired games, MMOs, and Steam Next Fest demos. Outreach began one month ahead of the preview, spotlighting the game’s co-op combat and anime aesthetic.

We advised the team on running a smooth practice session and delivering clear messaging for hands-on previews. To extend reach, we distributed a press release timed to the demo’s launch and followed up with writers we believed would be interested.

Results

The campaign exceeded expectations and helped Starlight Re:Volver stand out during a highly competitive Next Fest. We secured 26 confirmed participants for the curated Discord preview, including press from Game Rant, MMORPG, Anime News Network, and Sportskeeda. The title also earned coverage from PASTE Magazine, GameWith, Beebom, 4Gamer, and GNN News, reflecting strong interest across anime, indie, and global gaming press.

Starlight Re:Volver ranked among the top 10 most played demos of Steam Next Fest, standing out as a breakout title of the showcase.
