Wildmagic Frontier™ Brings Tabletop Adventure to Life in a New Browser-Based Tactics RPG, Now on Kickstarter

SAN FRANCISCO (September 10, 2026) | Today, Sky Castle Studios™ launched the Kickstarter campaign for Wildmagic Frontier™, a character-driven, deck-building tactics RPG designed to capture the creativity, strategy, and camaraderie of tabletop game night. Backers will receive a code to access Wildmagic Frontier™, with the full release being available to players outside of the Kickstarter.

Playable directly in a browser, Wildmagic Frontier™ invites players into Astara, a verdant world reawakened by volatile wild magic. Adventurers from across countless realms arrive through mysterious portals to explore the Frontier, uncover ancient secrets, and face dark forces that never truly disappeared.

Players can recruit a colorful cast of Companions, craft powerful cards, build decks around clever combos, and lead their party through fast-paced tactical battles. Adventures can be played solo or cooperatively with up to two friends.

At the heart of Wildmagic Frontier™ is Sky Castle Studios™’ love of tabletop gaming. Battles unfold across detailed dioramas created with the help of artists specializing in physical and 3D sculpting, while miniatures move across tactical grids with weighty physics designed to evoke the feeling of moving a figure by hand. To bring these handcrafted environments into the game, Sky Castle Studios™ uses advanced Gaussian splatting technology to capture the depth, texture, and detail of real materials in digital form.

Players can also bring their own Hero Forge® creations into the adventure by connecting their Hero Forge® account and importing any 3D Digital Miniatures they own, whether it’s an old favorite or a brand-new hero created for the Frontier. Hero Forge® is not required to play, with a range of premade character archetypes available for anyone ready to begin their adventure.

Between expeditions, players return to their Frontier town, where completing quests and forging friendships unlocks new Companions, mechanics, and adventures. The deeper players venture into the Frontier, the more volatile its wild magic becomes, bringing greater challenges and greater rewards.

The Kickstarter campaign also features additional stretch goals. If the campaign reaches $500,000, Sky Castle Studios™ will add expanded customization options, including card names and artwork, attack effects and animations, and battlefield sounds, giving players even more ways to tailor their characters and decks.
