Wildmagic Frontier Is Coming to Steam as Kickstarter Enters Final Days

The deck-building tactical RPG showcases three-player co-op on digital battlefields created from handcrafted dioramas ahead of its October 10 Kickstarter deadline.

San Francisco, USA (October 8, 2026) | Sky Castle Studios™, the studio behind Hero Forge®, has confirmed that its tactical deck-building RPG Wildmagic Frontier™ is coming to Steam. The game’s Kickstarter has raised more than $130,000 from over 1,700 backers, surpassing its $100,000 goal ahead of the campaign’s close on Saturday, October 10, at noon PDT / 3 p.m. EDT.

‍

Sky Castle Studios will share the Steam store page once it is live and available for wishlisting. A release date for the Steam version will be announced later.

Build Your Hero, Shape Your Deck, and Coordinate Your Party

‍

Playable solo or with up to two friends, Wildmagic Frontier sends players on expeditions through Astara to uncover its mysteries, recruit companions, and gather resources to grow their frontier town. Players can choose a premade hero or connect their Hero Forge account to import a 3D Digital Miniature they own as a playable character.

‍

Combat combines deck-building with tactical grid movement. Each hero’s cards reflect their equipment, abilities, and personality, providing attacks, spells, and support actions. Positioning helps players get more from each card: push an enemy into a wall for extra damage, pull several foes together to hit them at once, or swap places with a companion to protect an ally. In co-op, players coordinate their abilities to set up these combinations together.

‍

‍

Between battles, the party faces obstacles and opportunities resolved through dice-based skill checks. Players decide whether to risk a single die or spend additional dice from their limited pools to improve their chances of success. As their heroes progress, they upgrade and replace cards, develop new abilities, and bring resources home to expand their town.

‍

The adventure unfolds across environments made from physical dioramas scanned into the game, giving battles the look of miniatures moving across tabletop terrain. Hero Forge is optional, with premade characters available to all players.

‍

Watch Exploration and Combat In Action

New gameplay footage shows how these systems come together, from complete battles to a three-player adventure:

  • Co-op gameplay highlights: Join Ify Nwadiwe, Jasmine Bhullar, and Jenna Stoeber as they explore, tackle dice-based challenges, and combine their abilities in combat.
  • Tavern Brawl: Watch a complete encounter showcasing card-driven attacks and tactical positioning.
  • Dockyard Showdown: See another full battle across a dockyard diorama.

‍

Exclusive Kickstarter Rewards

‍

Kickstarter backers receive an exclusive hero, companion, pet, and town banner, plus the “Bloom” card back and “Wildmagic Explorer” title. Epic Edition backers receive additional exclusive characters and cosmetics, including “The Ancients” card back and “Wildmagic Wayfarer” title.

‍

Limited reward tiers also offer opportunities to work with the developers to design card backs or name locations in the game, subject to availability and studio approval.

‍

The Wildmagic Frontier Kickstarter closes October 10 at noon PDT / 3 p.m. EDT.
