Challenges & Goals

EVO Game Studio, a Brazilian developer with teams in Natal and São Paulo, partnered with UberStrategist to support early visibility for Dragon Khan, a third-person action RPG set in a dragon-ruled fantasy world. The studio wanted the game’s new demo trailer to make a strong first impression and help build recognition outside Brazil.

UberStrategist was brought on for a two-month campaign to evaluate the trailer and lead outreach around the demo launch. The primary goal was to secure top-tier trailer hosting and early international press attention that could support wishlist growth and establish a foundation for future publishing or funding conversations.

Strategic Approach

Our strategy centered on making the trailer the focal point of the announcement, positioning it as a polished and newsworthy introduction to Dragon Khan and its martial arts-driven combat. We provided targeted feedback on the trailer cut to ensure the game’s action and tone came through clearly.

Once finalized, we pre-seeded the trailer under embargo with high-impact outlets and supported it with a dedicated press release and follow-up pitching. After limited pickup during the busy holiday (late-December) outreach window, we followed up with an announcement for the demo launch and conducted direct follow-ups to secure stronger placement and broader coverage.

Results

The campaign generated 70 pieces of media coverage tied to Dragon Khan’s demo trailer and demo launch announcement. Coverage appeared in outlets including PCGamesN, GAMINGBible, Bleeding Cool, and Shazoo, introducing the game to new audiences outside Brazil.

A key milestone was securing trailer placement on IGN’s main YouTube channel, one of the client’s top campaign priorities and an increasingly difficult achievement in the current industry landscape. Together, this visibility helped Dragon Khan gain its first meaningful wave of top-tier international attention and established strong momentum for EVO Game Studio as the project moves into its next phase of publishing and funding discussions.
