Official ‘Sanibel’ Upgrade Kit Announced by Sirius in Collaboration with Hasbro’s Avalon Hill

BROOKLYN, NY | Sirius, a premier designer of tabletop gaming accessories, announced this week an agreement with Avalon Hill, the strategy games studio of Hasbro, a leading games, IP and toy company, to release an official upgrade kit for Sanibel, the cozy strategy game from acclaimed designer Elizabeth Hargrave.

The official upgrade kit enhances the seashell-collecting experience in Sanibel with premium components designed to elevate gameplay. It includes a high-quality playmat that transforms the game board into a scenic beach landscape, along with a set of custom, color-coded sea glass-inspired player tokens that add distinction and personality to each play session.

“Sanibel is a place defined by its natural beauty, and we set out to create a playmat and meeples that reflect that spirit through a mindful and respectful approach to product design and materials,” said Justin Ziran, co-president at Sirius Dice.

Designed by acclaimed board game designer Elizabeth Hargrave, best known for the award-winning strategy board game Wingspan — later adapted into a video game — Sanibel invites players to explore a beach-themed landscape by drafting shell tiles and arranging them strategically on their personal mat to earn points. Players collect different shell sets and combinations to maximize their final score.

The Sanibel Upgrade Kit will be available at local game stores and hobby retailers this summer at an MSRP of $19.99.
