Challenges & Goals

Top Hat Studios, a Japanese-inspired indie publisher, partnered with UberStrategist for a one-month campaign to promote their 2025 digital showcase. The goal was to increase visibility from the previous year and spotlight upcoming console releases, including their next imminent release, Labyrinth of the Demon King.

Based on our track record promoting successful indie showcases, Top Hat Studios turned to us to help elevate their event amid a crowded industry calendar and high-profile competition from larger, more established showcases.

Strategic Approach

We optimized messaging to appeal to both press and fans, beginning with a pre-seeded announcement to Tier 1 outlets alongside interview offers. We also organized a detailed press kit featuring all announced titles.

Following the showcase, we distributed a global news blast and followed up with a targeted release spotlighting key console reveals. Despite competition from a surprise AAA drop and overlapping industry events, we drove meaningful press engagement through strategic, persistent outreach.

Results

Our campaign helped Top Hat Studios secure meaningful press attention during a competitive news cycle. Showcase coverage appeared in GameSpot, VICE/Waypoint, 4Gamer, Gematsu, Playground, Bloody Disgusting, Bleeding Cool, 80LV, Vandal, and more. We also secured an interview for Crypt Custodian developer Kyle Thompson with GamePressure.

The showcase reached a wide global audience, drawing new attention to Top Hat’s lineup and boosting awareness ahead of key 2025 releases.
