Put Switzerland’s Indie Game Scene in the Spotlight

Challenges & Goals
SwissGames, an initiative of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, was preparing to attend GDC with a delegation of 15 relatively unknown Swiss indie studios. The organization needed to raise its own profile while helping each studio attract meaningful attention from international gaming media.
The goal of our campaign was to secure high-quality press opportunities for the delegation and ensure the participating developers were prepared to represent their games confidently in interviews.
Strategic Approach
We developed a two-part strategy to help SwissGames and its delegation make a strong impact at GDC. First, our team created tailored pitches and conducted targeted outreach to secure appointments with media attending GDC. We also pursued coverage opportunities with relevant editors who were not attending the event.
Second, we provided comprehensive media training for the 15 participating studios. The sessions helped the developers refine their messaging, prepare for interviews, and speak confidently about their games and studios.
Results
We secured GDC appointments with top-tier outlets including PC Gamer, The Verge, and Gamezebo, along with feature coverage from non-attending editors from Destructoid, IGN, and GGRecon. This gave SwissGames and the 15 participating studios visibility both at the event and beyond the show floor.
The media training also helped the developers approach interviews with greater confidence and preparation. Together, the outreach and training gave the delegation a stronger platform to introduce Switzerland’s games industry to international media.
