Challenges & Goals

gamescom is the world’s largest gaming event, drawing hundreds of thousands of attendees annually to Cologne, Germany. With both B2B and consumer areas, it serves as a crucial platform for developers and publishers to showcase their games, connect with media, and hold business meetings. However, exhibiting can be a daunting and expensive task—especially for smaller teams or those unfamiliar with international trade show logistics.

For the second year in a row, UberStrategist partnered with the IGDA to simplify this process. Our goal was to provide flexible, cost-effective exhibiting solutions that allowed companies to maintain a strong B2B presence without the burden of handling logistics.

Strategic Approach

The UberStrategist B2B Pavilion was designed to maximize a large 300-square-meter space by carving it into various exhibiting packages and allowing companies to choose the setup that best suits their needs. Options included dedicated meeting tables, private rooms of different sizes, and custom exhibitor spaces.

Meanwhile, all exhibitors benefited from shared resources, including a managed reception desk with bilingual staff, branding on the booth’s external panels, a showreel featuring their games and company info, a shared storage area, food and beverages, and invitations to two exclusive networking mixers. To further enhance their presence, we also offered optional services such as press appointment booking.

Results

Fifteen companies joined the UberStrategist B2B Pavilion, taking advantage of a turnkey solution that allowed them to focus on networking, showcasing their games, and holding business meetings without the usual trade show stress. Across all exhibitors, we facilitated nearly 400 press appointments, which ensured strong media exposure and valuable coverage opportunities.

By handling every logistical detail, we made exhibiting at gamescom more accessible, particularly for smaller teams that may have otherwise struggled with the costs and complexities of attending. Our tailored approach provided companies with the flexibility and professional support needed to maximize their presence at the world’s largest gaming event.
