8 Video Game Industry Events to Watch This June

Game industry events play a key role in how games are discovered. For players, they offer a first look at upcoming titles, demos to try, and names to follow. For developers and publishers, they’re a chance to stay on top of industry trends, promote their work, and connect with the audiences that matter most.

June is one of the busiest months of the year, packed with showcases, festivals, and fan-focused events. We’ve put together this list to help you stay up to date on everything happening this month.

June 2025 Game Industry Events

Whether you're watching from home or attending in person, these events shape the conversation around what's next in games. Here's a rundown of what is happening in the games industry this June.

Steam’s Zombies vs. Vampires Fest

Dates: May 26 - June 2, 2025

Steam’s Zombie’s vs. Vampire’s Fest is a genre-themed showcase focused on all things undead. The fest playfully pits zombies against vampires, but really, it’s just a chance to celebrate them both. Fans of horror, survival, and action games featuring these timeless villains will surely enjoy the festival.

It’s a niche event, but it's a good reminder that knowing your audience—and meeting them where they are—can go a long way. Smaller, themed fests like this can be great for reaching the right players. Plus, they often offer a better chance to stand out than broader, more crowded events.

The MIX Summer Game Showcase

Dates: June 3 and 6, 2025

Previously known as Guerrilla Collective, The MIX Summer Game Showcase returns this June. This year marks the official transition to the new name, but the mission remains the same: to celebrate games online and in person with some of the best gaming developers and publishers.

The online showcase kicks off on June 3 at 9 am PT / 12 pm ET and will feature new game announcements, trailer premieres, and gameplay reveals—streamed to a global audience on YouTube and Twitch. On June 6, the onsite showcase will be held in Los Angeles at 5 pm PT, offering the press, creators, and fans a chance to go hands-on with games and meet the developers behind them.

The event also includes a Steam event page featuring many showcased games, adding extra discoverability for those featured.

Game submissions for this year’s showcase have closed, but it’s still a key game industry event to watch this June—and a great reference point for future participation. Curious what it’s like? Check out this link for photo and video highlights, or watch the 2024 online showcase.

IGN Live

Dates: June 7-8, 2025

In its second year, IGN Live is a two-day, fan-focused event that blends gaming and entertainment with hands-on access, live programming, and major brand participation. Taking place in Downtown LA, the show features playable demos, panels, contests, giveaways, and appearances from IGN personalities and special guests.

Big-name companies like Xbox, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Capcom, and Netflix are expected to be part of this year’s lineup. With new announcements and community engagement at the forefront, IGN Live allows fans to connect with the games and creators shaping the industry.

Future Games Show

Date: June 8, 2025

The Future Games Show is one of the most anticipated digital showcases of the summer, known for spotlighting AAA titles and standout indie games. Produced by Future and streamed across major platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and Steam (and by over one hundred co-streamers), the show draws millions of viewers. It features a mix of world premieres, exclusive demos, gameplay reveals, and developer interviews.

This year’s Summer Showcase is hosted by Laura Bailey (Abby Anderson, The Last of Us Part II) and Matthew Mercer (Vincent Valentine, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth). It will feature more than 40 games, including new trailers from Supermassive Games (Directive 8020) and Blumhouse Games (Crisol: Theater of Idols). The main show will be followed by FGS Live From Los Angeles, a companion stream with additional trailers, news, and interviews.

The Future Games Show has built a strong reputation for helping players discover something new, and it continues to be a key platform for developers looking to reach a wide and varied global audience. It will be held on June 8, 2025, at 1 pm PT / 4 pm ET, and (among many options) it can be watched on YouTube here. To catch the most recent Spring 2025 edition, check out this video.

PC Gaming Show

Date: June 8, 2025

The PC Gaming Show returns on June 8 with its latest summer showcase. Now in its tenth year, this long-running broadcast is known for celebrating the best in PC gaming—from major announcements to niche favorites and everything in between.

Set to air at 12 pm PT / 3 pm ET (one hour before the Future Games Show), the 2025 edition will feature over 50 games across PC, Steam Deck, Linux, and macOS. The show promises world premieres, exclusive reveals, and deep-dive interviews with developers, including participation from brands like Ubisoft, Failbetter Games, Devolver Digital, and Astra Logical.

Hosted by Frankie Ward, Sean “Day[9]” Plott, and Mica Burton, the show will stream live on YouTube, Twitch, Steam, and several media partner platforms. With a player-first focus and a growing global audience, the PC Gaming Show continues to be a key event in the summer games calendar—especially for those developing or publishing on PC.

Steam Next Fest: June Edition

Dates: June 9-16, 2025

Steam Next Fest: June Edition is one of the most significant discovery events on the platform. This weeklong showcase highlights upcoming games through playable demos, developer livestreams, and wishlist prompts—allowing players to explore what’s coming next and helping devs build early momentum.

Steam typically runs three Next Fests each year, and they’ve been steadily growing in size. The last one (February 2025) saw an estimated 2,300-2,500 games participating—the second-largest turnout ever, just behind October 2024. We expect the June edition to be just as big.

For developers, the upside is clear: visibility, feedback, and wishlist growth. But standing out in a field of thousands is no small task (although smart PR and marketing can help tip the scales). Still, it’s one of the most exciting events on Steam, and we’re eager to see what new titles break through this time.

Steam’s Fishing Fest

Dates: June 16-23, 2025

It’s almost poetic: after the hustle and bustle of Steam Next Fest, the platform completely shifts gears and takes a relaxing break with a fishing-themed festival. This event highlights games dedicated to the noble pursuit of catching fish—whether in calm, meditative settings or more competitive, skill-based formats.

Like Zombies vs. Vampires Fest, this is a niche event—but that’s precisely what makes it valuable. It puts a specific type of game front and center, helping it connect with a focused, enthusiastic audience. For titles that feature fishing in any form, this is a chance to reel in the right players and stand out in a more targeted spotlight.

Steam Summer Sale

Dates: June 26 - July 10, 2025

Capping off the month is the Steam Summer Sale, a major event for players and a key strategic window for developers and publishers. This two-week sale features deep discounts across a wide range of games and typically draws significant traffic to the platform.

Steam sales are an excellent time for studios to attract new players, convert wishlists, reignite interest in older titles, and boost visibility for recent updates and DLC. But with thousands of games on sale at once, getting noticed takes more than just a price drop. Strong visuals, clear messaging, and a little extra marketing support can go a long way in turning a discount into real momentum.
